Lew Robson, an avid windsurfer in Sydney's Sutherland shire, built the first ROLA roof rack out of pure necessity. Unable to find and buy a rack that was quiet, strong, and aesthetically pleasing, he did what any self-sufficient Aussie would do. He made his own! Word of his design soon spread across Australia and a new industry leader was born. ROLA is now Australia's premier vehicle outfitter.
